FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear parishioners, brothers and sisters in Christ,
Welcome to a new month – September will be filled with lots of challenges and changes.
Let us pray, with the help of our God, we will be able to face them.
With the help of Bruno Pichelli, we were able to have a new roof installed on the Rectory earlier this year. The cost of this was $10640. Thank you to Bruno, the Finance Council and all who support our Parish.
CELEBRATION OF THE SACRAMENTS: We have new norms and guidelines from the Chancery to aid pastors to celebrate the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation with our children during this pandemic. This is exciting! We shall let parents know when it will be appropriate and safe to celebrate the Sacraments with the children.
GRATITUDE: Once again, thank you to all who are donating to our parish during these times. May God bless and replenish their sacrifices abundantly.
For students attending school this Fall in whatever manner – in person or at home and online, may they grow in wisdom and grace through the love of God, let us pray to the Lord.
For students anxious about the start of school this Fall, may the Good Shepherd calm their turmoil and keep them free from fear, let us pray to the Lord.
For teachers and all school staff, may the grace and peace of Christ give them strength and comfort throughout this school year, let us pray to the Lord.
Hymns and lyrics for upcoming Masses can be found on our website. Please review them before Mass so we can all participate.
Finally, remember to be proud of your faith and your church. Remember to smile, to love everyone, to care and share – this is the best way of life.
YARD SALE 2020

MASS FOR THOSE WHO DIED DURING THE SHUTDOWN
Bishop Crosby has requested that a Mass be celebrated on Saturday, October 10 at 11 am in all parishes for all who died throughout the Diocese of Hamilton during the shutdown –whether from the Covid-19 virus or any other cause. This is to offer prayerful support for families and for their beloved dead. If you lost a relative during the shutdown please call our parish office to provide us with names for the Mass.
DIRECTIVES FOR OUR SAFETY
We ask that you continue to do a self-assessment before coming to Mass. If you feel unwell or have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19, please do not attend Mass.
Please do not remove your mask during Mass. Those with certain medical conditions are not required to wear a mask. If you need to cough or sneeze, please do so into your elbow.
For Communion, an usher will be present and will usher one row at a time to the front. For those on the King St. side, please receive Communion from the Priest or Minister on the same side as where you were sitting. Do not cross to the other side. Communion must be received in the hand, then remove your mask, consume the Host and replace your mask before walking to your seat.
Offertory envelopes will be collected as you exit the Church at the end of Mass.
Parishioners sitting nearest to the doors should exit first, and please remember to physically distance inside and outside the Church.
We are not able to gather in the foyers or body of the church before or after Mass, so please leave the building as soon as Mass is over as it needs to be cleaned and sanitized after each use.
We are always in need of volunteers, as it takes many people in order for all of us to share in the celebration of Mass. Please call the parish office if you are willing to help at one of our Masses.
Thank you for adhering to these safety directives as we work together during this time of reopening.
