FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners,
BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO PARISH LIFE
As the summer break comes to an end, we look forward to welcoming our students back to school (in-class or online). We welcome all parishioners who were away for vacation back to parish life. The virus is still with us and we may not have our lives fully back to normal yet; however, we are grateful that we can at least safely gather for Masses and other liturgical celebrations.
Our parish staff will resume full office hours to continue to serve us. Kindly call the parish office for appointments for pastoral services and to volunteer to serve in the faith community as readers, ushers, and name takers at the door; we need more volunteers to keep us up and running. Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who have served us until now. May God reward their sacrificial services abundantly.
We look forward to administering the Sacraments to our students, and to conduct parish spiritual activities safely for our spiritual nourishment and growth in Christ.
Although it is not obligatory to attend Mass at this time, I would like to encourage those who are able to attend Mass to continue attending for your spiritual good. We try at the parish to follow safety procedures to keep everyone safe. There have not been any issues so far, we thank God for that.
I encourage you to continue to donate to support the parish. You may do so online through the parish website, envelopes, through the parish office and automated giving. Please see which option is best for you to support the Lord’s work.
Another opportunity to show your love and care for our parish is to participate in the One Heart One Soul Capital Campaign which is geared toward raising funds to revitalize our parish.
Finally, I wish to state that our parish has an “open door policy” to welcome all people to encounter Christ and to mature as His disciples. This is our mission.
Once again, welcome back as we continue to pray in hope of an end to the pandemic. God is good!
Blessings,
Fr. Andrew Quarshie

This past week we celebrated the baptism of Aylin and Rose. We would like to welcome them into our Parish family!

This note from a campaign participant was received by the One Heart, One Soul office: “We are grateful to Bishop Crosby, our pastor, and our parish campaign committee for helping us know what our parish needs to thrive and giving us the opportunity to help these things happen.” The campaign in our parish is the same opportunity for us. Please take the time to review the campaign materials for St. John the Baptist Parish and consider making a pledge.
