Dear Family of God:
TOWARDS “A VIBRANT, PRAYERFUL MISSION-ORIENTED PARISH”: Beginning Advent this year 2021, the Pastoral Council and I will continue our work together with the whole parish, to reflect and engage being a Vibrant, Prayerful Mission-Oriented Parish. We want to grow into a community of prayer united in Christ, welcome more young people and young families into the church, engage and re-evangelize our seniors, and grow into mature disciples of Christ. This will bring us to outline many goals and work out strategies to achieve them. Please be involved in the new era of St. John’s “Vibrant, Prayerful Mission-Oriented Parish”
DEVOTION BEFORE MASS: As part of our mission to grow into a community of prayer united in Christ, we shall have a 5 minutes devotion before Mass. This will begin on the First Sunday (Weekend) of Advent. Prayer cards will be made available in the pews.
Let us all contribute to make St. John’s a vibrant, prayerful, mission-oriented parish.
Peace and blessings,
Fr. Andrew

St. John Parish will be hosting a bazaar on Friday Dec 10 from 4 to 9 pm, and Saturday Dec 11 from 9 to 12 pm in the Parish Hall. We are looking for donations of NEW items for the Penny Sale. Capital Prize tickets will be available sometime in November. Tickets for the 50/50 draw will be sold TODAY after Mass in the Parish Hall. Please join us and support your Parish!

Recognizing that the pandemic is not over, we have decided to continue the Angel Tree program as we did last year. Instead of purchasing gifts for the Angel Tree, we are asking for cash donations to allow us to purchase gift cards for our clients and school families in need. If you would like to make a financial contribution, you can do so any time before noon on December 19th by putting your donation in an envelope clearly marked “Angel Tree,” and bringing it to the collection at Mass or to the Parish office.
If you would like a tax receipt for your donation, please indicate
your name and address on your donation envelope.
Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

There will be Adoration, Mass, social distance veneration of the relics and anointing with the oil of St. Joseph. NOTE: Attendance is strictly by registration. Please call the St. Eugene Parish office to register: 905-549-2694. There will be a free-will collection at this Mass.

Votive candles are once again available at the King St entrance. Light them to pray for loved ones, your own intentions and the intentions of others. Please maintain a 2 metre physical distance while waiting to light your candle.

Volunteers are urgently needed to deliver nutritious hot and frozen meals to our seniors and those with disabilities. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday during the lunch hour and volunteers can either drive or be a server. All it takes is 2 hours per week to make a difference in the lives of people in our own community. VON provides orientation, training and support to all volunteers, and drivers receive mileage reimbursement. For more information, or to register for an orientation session, please call the VON office at 905-522-1022 or email
