FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
May the peace of Christ our King be with you!
We are gradually coming to the end of our Liturgical year which will pave way to usher in a new year. Sunday 2nd of December 2018 marks the beginning of a new Liturgical year which starts with the Season of Advent. There are five (5) Liturgical Seasons in the Church’s year which celebrates the mysteries of Christ. We have Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Ordinary Time.
This weekend we celebrate the Feast of Christ the Universal King. This feast brings us to acknowledge Christ as our King, to pay our allegiance to Him, to heed His voice and allow Him to reign over our hearts and souls, and finally to live with Him joyfully someday in His everlasting Kingdom. May God be praised and adored forever.
Christmas is around the corner. Let us use the coming season of Advent to prepare ourselves to meet and celebrate the infant King who was born to us at Bethlehem. God is good, all the time, and all the time God is good!
Your brother and servant in the Lord, Andrew.
From Dec. 1st to Dec. 16 we are asking for help in providing gifts for those in need.
St. Vincent de Paul Society is calling upon you with a request to help the less fortunate during the Christmas season. The Tree will be located at the King Street foyer and paper Angels will be placed on the tree. The angels will say: infant, girl, elderly person, etc. with sizes and suggested gift ideas.
General gift ideas include toys, board games, basketballs, mittens, hats, slippers, pajamas, movie passes, gift cards from Walmart, Tim Hortons or other places.
The gifts will then be returned wrapped or in a gift bag with the paper angel taped securely to the outside of the package for identification. Place your gift under the Christmas Tree. All gifts must be returned to the Church on or before December 16th.
If you are aware of anyone in the parish, a youth, senior or family who is in need of assistance this Christmas please call the Rectory at 905-544-2100 and tell Rina or Lisa.
Thank you for everyone who signed up for a parish ministry – your enthusiasm fills us with hope! In the next few months, the parish council will begin implementing these ministries and you will be contacted when that takes place. Please join us after Sunday Mass on December 2nd, where, during our regular Coffee and Conversation, the parish council would like to thank you and you can get to meet your fellow volunteers.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
To everyone who helped make our Bazaar a great success again this year. Without you, this could never be done. Our net profit was $29,000. Thank you.

Today we hail Christ as our King. He is the Victor over the power of death, Who loves us and freed us from our sins by His own blood, and Who by Baptism has made us a royal nation of priests in the service of His Father and our God. He Who is King continues to choose men and women to serve as priests, sisters, brothers or deacons, so that the faithful may know Him, love Him and serve Him as well.

“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom does not belong to this world’ “ John 18:36
How often do we put all our time and energy into building a kingdom here on earth, forgetting that life here is short? The real kingdom is in the next life. Yet, how much time and energy do we invest in working for that eternal kingdom?
