Dear Parishioners, peace be with you!
As we find ourselves in a second wave of the pandemic, we are all advised and encouraged to exercise extra precaution for the safety of all. Let us keep praying that we find a potent vaccine soon. Don’t lose hope, God is with us.

RCIA: If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or learning about the faith kindly attend our first meeting on Tuesday November 24, 2020 at St. Eugene Parish at 7:30pm after Mass.

GRATITUDE: Thank you to all who are volunteering to keep our parish open. Thank you to all who are donating to support our parish especially during these times. God bless you all abundantly.

GRATITUDE: Thank you to the members of the St. Vincent de Paul group in our parish who engage in remarkable works of charity within our Parish jurisdiction. May God bless them. Let us continue to support them in every way we can. Those interested to join should contact the Parish office.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL ANGEL TREE
Dear parishioners,Despite the challenges posed by Covid-19, the Saint Vincent DePaul Society at St. John the Baptist Parish has decided to go ahead with the annual Angel Tree giving program. Once again we are calling upon parishioners to help those less fortunate during the Christmas season. In addition to helping families in our parish and school community, we will also provide Christmas presents to the residents of a home for developmentally challenged adults. From Nov. 28th to Dec. 13th we are asking for help in providing gifts to those in need. Please visit the Christmas tree, located in the King St. foyer after Nov. 27, which will be decorated with colourful paper angels. On each angel there is a description of someone in our community who could use a gift this holiday season. For example – infant girl, elderly man, 12 year old boy etc. Please take an angel and purchase a gift for this individual. Where possible we have provided you with sizes and suggested gift ideas. General gift ideas include toys, board games, basketballs, mittens, hats, slippers, pajamas, nightgowns and toiletry items. Gift certificates to Wal-Mart, Tim Horton’s or MacDonald’s are also very much appreciated.Return the wrapped present or gift bag (gift bags are preferred) with the paper angel taped securely to the outside for identification. Place your gift under the Christmas tree. Members of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society will collect the gifts after Mass each week.
All gifts should be returned to the church on or before Sunday, December 13th.
Finally, if you are aware of anyone in the parish, a youth, senior or family who is in need of assistance this Christmas, please call the rectory at 905-544-2100 and provide Rina or Lisa with their contact information and we will ensure that an angel is placed on the tree for them.Thank you in advance for your generosity and may God bless you for your caring concern.

DIRECTIVES FOR OUR SAFETY
We ask that you continue to do a self-assessment before coming to Mass. If you feel unwell or have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19, please do not attend Mass.
Please do not remove your mask during Mass. Those with certain medical conditions are not required to wear a mask. If you need to cough or sneeze, please do so into your elbow.
For Communion, an usher will be present and will usher one row at a time to the front. For those on the King St. side, please receive Communion from the Priest or Minister on the same side as where you were sitting. Do not cross to the other side. Communion must be received in the hand, then remove your mask, consume the Host and replace your mask before walking to your seat.
Offertory envelopes will be collected as you exit the Church at the end of Mass.
Parishioners sitting nearest to the doors should exit first, and please remember to physically distance inside and outside the Church.
We are not able to gather in the foyers or body of the church before or after Mass, so please leave the building as soon as Mass is over as it needs to be cleaned and sanitized after each use.
We are always in need of volunteers, as it takes many people in order for all of us to share in the celebration of Mass. Please call the parish office if you are willing to help at one of our Masses.
Thank you for adhering to these safety directives.
