ONE HEART, ONE SOUL + DID YOU KNOW
IT’S KICKOFF TIME!
The preparation phase of the One Heart, One Soul Campaign for the Diocese of Hamilton is moving into the active phase! A campaign kickoff Mass will be held at noon on Monday, March 25, Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King in Hamilton. The Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI. The Pilot Wave Parishes will be holding kickoffs for their own efforts in April. Three additional waves over the next two years will allow every Parish in the Diocese to participate. Most of the funds from the three-year campaign will go to Parish projects, with a special emphasis on the Parishes most in need. A number of diocesan ministries will benefit as well. A series of Frequently Asked Questions about the campaign can be found on the campaign web-site – www.oneheartonesoul.ca

FULLNESS OF PURPOSE
Could there be more to our faith experience than what we have come to know?
Dynamic speaker and author Ken Yasinski will be leading a 2 day parish mission, at St. Francis Xavier Parish, Stoney Creek, Sunday, April 7th and Monday, April 8th .
Why have I been created? Where is Joy found?
Does my Catholic faith matter?
This mission is Catholicism in everyday simple language that will make relevant the timeless truths of our faith. Come be inspired to live your full potential in life. Come hear Ken speak of his own personal challenges in life and with his faith, be transformed through his musical adoration with the blessed sacrament. To learn more and hear Ken speak, here is a short video 3 Ways God Answers Prayers.

SEPARATION & DIVORCE
This can be a painful and confusing time for those living the experience. Learning how to cope and being supported by those who have lived through it as well is important to ensure future health. The Family Ministry Office offers Level Programs for you if you are in this situation, or refer anyone else you may know that is in need. Check out the web-site at hamiltondiocese.com or call the parish office and we can give them your number. Begins this Tuesday.

VOCATION VIEW
Each Lent should bring us closer to our God. There is no failure, except that of no longer trying. You can still follow Jesus more closely. The Lord is kind and merciful and calls us to proclaim His Name. Consider service in the Priesthood or consecrated life.
If you think God is calling you contact Fr. Michael King, Diocese of Hamilton 905-528-7988 ext. 2246. E-mail vocations@hamiltondiocese.com

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS
“He said to the gardener, ‘For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this fig tree but have found none.'” Luke 13:7
We can all be like the barren fig tree at times. Do you cling to what you have or do you generously share with others? How will you respond when God asks you what you have done with all the gifts, He has given you? Remember, not only are we called to be generous, we are called to develop and nurture our gifts and return with increase.

Follow-up on Previous Events/Initiatives:
1. Priest Portraits: We have framed portraits for Fr. Peter, Fr. Laszlo, and Fr. Andrew, and are looking to hang them in a place where everyone can easily see them.
2. Sacred Heart Shrine: We will be hanging a prayer to the Sacred Heart above the votive candles and are experimenting with a kneeler in front of the candles. Please stop by the shrine, light a candle, say a prayer, and let us know what you think of the arrangement.
Upcoming Events/Initiatives:
3. Parish Library: We would like to start a small parish library. If anyone has any books of a religious or spiritual nature (including children’s books), please leave them under the bookshelf at the King St. entrance. Also, if anyone has a small bookshelf we could use, please let the office know.
4. Introduction to Mass: To continue to foster a sense of community in the parish we will be experimenting with a welcoming introduction to the Mass read by the lectors. Let us know what you think!
5. Altar Server Training Day: All current Altar Servers and anyone who would like to become one are invited to our training day and pizza lunch in the church, on Saturday April 13th, from 9:30 AM-12:00 Noon. Please RSVP with the office.
6. Parish Picnic: We are planning to celebrate our parish feast day by hosting a parish picnic on Sunday, June 23 after Mass. A committee will be organized to further plan this event, and a sign-up sheet will be at the doors of the church in early April. Please consider how you can support this initiative.
