FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK

Dear friends,
ASCENSION: This weekend we celebrate the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ into Heaven. We could take some time this weekend to reflect on heavenly values of our faith. As Christ ascends to heaven, we must seek the things above and incorporate them in our daily lives. Moreover, we could reflect on seeking a union with God, both in our day-to-day spiritual lives and after death. Have a Blessed Ascension Weekend!

ONE HEART ONE SOUL CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:  We all feel our wonderful parish needs revitalization and growth. One blessing we have to help us attain this goal of revitalization and growth is the ONE HEART ONE SOUL CAPITAL CAMPAIGN.  It would help us raise funds to cater for the major needs of our parish. It will also help us engage our Christian life of sharing our time, talent and resources in order to better serve the church and the community around us.

St. Johns is part of the FIRST WAVE of the Campaign. We shall start preparing grounds for the campaign next month June. However, the actual Campaign starts close to the end of the year 2019. The whole campaign will take a 3 year span.  We have to raise $178,700.00 over 3 years for the campaign and we get to keep 70% of the funds for our needs. We can use the money for various needs of our Parish. We will all need to give a little extra when the time comes, No Pressure!

God bless you!

Fr. Andrew

The Lord said, “…you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in al Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Pray for an increase of vocations to the ordained and consecrated life.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Revelations 22:13
This is a reminder of how we should live our lives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – putting God first in all that we do. Not only when I am at Mass and parish activities, but when I am in the world, at work or at school. Living gratefully and generously is a lifestyle; it should influence how I make all my daily decisions.

SPIRITUAL REFLECTION – FROM MOTHER TERESA
“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
