Interested in learning more about our Catholic Faith? Join Bishop Lobsinger for “Evenings with His Excellency” on the second Friday of each month at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in Canadian Martyrs Church, (1349 Main Street West, Hamilton). Each month we will methodically go through the “Catechism of the Catholic Church”. There is no registration, no fee and no homework. Come ready to learn and ask all the questions you always wanted to ask about our Catholic Faith. The first “Evening with His Excellency” is Friday, September 10, 2021. If you are unable to attend in person, you are welcome to go to https://www.canadianmartyrshamilton.com/ to watch live. (All COVID 19 protocols will be required, including masks while in the church and proper social distancing.)

Our second Scripture reading reminds us that “Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father.” God’s gifts should prompt a response of gratitude, which should be the basis of our daily lives. If you feel God is offering you the gift of priesthood, religious life or deaconate, and you wish to respond generously, trusting in God, call Fr. Michael King, Director of Vocations, Diocese of Hamilton, 905-528-7988 ext. 2246. or email vocations@hamiltondiocese.com  or visit the website https://hamiltondiocese.com/vocations/

God, the source of creation and love, you invite each of us to serve you through the life which is your gift. May your grace encourage men and women to heights of holiness through service to the Church as priests, sisters, brothers and lay ministers. Make me an instrument to encourage others to give themselves and challenge me to do the same. Amen.

Courses are available from Kindergarten to High School for children not enrolled in a Catholic school, and include programs specially designed to assist children preparing for the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation. Please visit the Diocesan website at https://hamiltondiocese.com/offices/evangelization-catechesis/correspondence/

In an effort to encourage a spirit of prayerful support for children and educators, a special website has been designed to help families and schools welcome the return of a new academic year. It includes suggestions for prayers, questions and conversations parents can have with their children, as well as a brief Liturgy of the Word celebration.
