FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners, happy new month!
We thank God for how far he has brought us through this pandemic. We continue to pray for a cure for the virus and full restoration to a new better life. Mass attendance has been encouraging so far. Thank you to all our parishioners and visitors who are still supporting our parish financially by their donations. God bless you all.
We will be returning to our Thursday Morning Mass, 8:30 a.m. and now have started back to our Saturday Evening Mass at 5:15 p.m.
On Thursday 6th August, 8:30 a.m. we shall celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord at St. John Parish. All are welcome to attend. Do not miss our Feast of Assumption Mass at St. John Parish on the 15th of August at 9:00 a.m. We shall pray for young people and also for a cure for Covid-19 virus.
Fr. Ambroise and I are happy to be ministering to you during these times. Please call the parish office for any pastoral needs.
Stay safe. Blessings!
Fr. Andrew

MASS FOR THOSE WHO DIED DURING THE SHUTDOWN
Bishop Crosby has requested that a Mass be celebrated on Saturday, October 10 at 11 am in all parishes for all who died throughout the Diocese of Hamilton during the shutdown –whether from the Covid-19 virus or any other cause. This is to offer prayerful support for families and for their beloved dead. If you lost a relative during the shutdown please call our parish office to provide us with names for the Mass.

DIRECTIVES FOR OUR SAFETY
We ask that you continue to do a self-assessment before coming to Mass. If you feel unwell or have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19, please do not attend Mass.
Please do not remove your mask during Mass. Those with certain medical conditions are not required to wear a mask. If you need to cough or sneeze, please do so into your elbow.
We know some people have a chronic cough and it is allergy season. Please do not worry or discriminate to those around you. It is natural to cough and sneeze.
For Communion, an usher will be present and will usher one row at a time to the front. For those on the King St. side, please receive Communion from the Priest or Minister on the same side as where you were sitting. Do not cross to the other side. Communion must be received in the hand, then remove your mask, consume the Host and replace your mask before walking to your seat.
Offertory envelopes will be collected as you exit the Church at the end of Mass.
Parishioners sitting nearest to the doors should exit first, and please remember to physically distance inside and outside the Church.
If you have questions, please ask the ushers.
We are not able to gather in the foyers or body of the church before or after Mass, so please leave the building as soon as Mass is over as it needs to be cleaned and sanitized after each use.
We are always in need of volunteers, as it takes many people in order for all of us to share in the celebration of Mass. Please call the parish office if you are willing to help at one of our Masses.
Thank you for adhering to these safety directives as we work together during this time of reopening.
